1. Introduction

Welcome to Matt. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Matt app (the "App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Use of the App

Matt is designed to transcribe, summarize and translate voice messages and texts shared from WhatsApp, Telegram and other apps, as well as audio and video files you import. The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for your use of the App.

3. AI Features and Third-Party Processing

The App offers two transcription engines: on-device transcription (Pro), which runs entirely on your device, and AI Transcription (Premium), which processes your audio in the cloud. AI Transcription, summaries, and automatic titles require sending your audio or transcribed text to third-party AI services (AssemblyAI for AI Transcription; OpenAI, through our Supabase server, for summaries and automatic titles, which work the same way in both Pro and Premium). The first time you use each of these features, the App shows you an alert explaining what will be sent and to whom, and asks for your consent; if you decline, the feature is not performed and no data is sent. Since these features are optional, you can stop using them at any time. What is sent, to whom, and for what purpose is described in detail in our Privacy Policy.

AI-generated output (transcriptions, summaries, translations, titles) may contain errors or inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it, and you must not use the App to process audio you have no right to process.

4. Subscriptions and In-App Purchases

- Titles of Subscriptions: Pro (transcription with Apple's on-device frameworks) and Premium (AI transcription via AssemblyAI)

- Available Plans: Weekly or Yearly, for both Pro and Premium

- Price of Subscription: Prices may vary depending on your country or region and are displayed in the App at the time of purchase.

Subscriptions (weekly and yearly) automatically renew at the end of each subscription period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or turn off auto-renewal by going to your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase.

5. Payment and Billing

Payments for in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through your Apple ID account. By making a purchase, you agree to the payment terms provided by Apple.

6. Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information on how we collect, use, and protect your information.

7. End-User License Agreement (EULA)

By using the App, you agree to the terms set forth in our End-User License Agreement (EULA). If you do not agree with the terms of the EULA, you must discontinue the use of the App.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, and data on the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and software, are the property of Matt or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

9. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit their use and enjoyment of the App.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the App, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
